If I had the money, this is what I would wear on NYE! I love how utterly elegant the dress and with the right accessories, oh so macabre.

Speakeasy Struggle!
Lilpnut is going to a speakeasy themed New Years Eve Party (sooooo jealous btw, how do I get an invite!?) and asked for some accessory assistance. She bought this super cute flapper-esque mini dress from Forever21. Being that the party is tomorrow, all my finds are from Forever21 and Macys so she can swing by and pick them up ASAP! A quick note about theme partys: I have found unless you are going to a theatre costume shop with professional costumes, or you have done extensive research on specific era clothing and accessories, it's generally best to do a modern twist on whatever the theme may be. If not, you can end up looking cheap and cheap is never a good look!
Forever21
1. Black Feathered Headband 2. Long Spherical Bead Necklaces in Gold/Cream Black/Dark Grey & Black/Cream 3. Antique Rhinestone Ring in Dark Grey 4. Suedette Open Toe Heels in Black 5. Metallic Pattern Handbag
Macy's
1. Givenchy Bracelet 2. Givenchy Necklace 3. Givenchy Ring 4. Aerosoles Pumps in Black Suede 5. Jessica McClintock Clutch
Hope this helps Pnut!

sleep, you are ever elusive.
Last night I was extra productive in my sleeplessness and wrapped all the gifts that have been laying around my closet. Today I came across this funny journal at Modcloth and wonder if it would actually help me doze off to dreamland...

ho, ho, ho-verwhelmed.
Hiya Lovelies!
I have a confession. I've got the pre christmas blues. It's the time of year when I just get so overwhelmed all I wanna do is shut down and hide under the covers (funny story side note, one time in our old apartment a tiny one bedroom efficiency, I actually did hide under the blankets and my husband couldn't find me). It's a tough time of year, because I want to do everything myself. I want to buy all the gifts, wrap all the gifts, ship all the gifts, plan all the parties, style all my friends, style and take care of myself (I am desperate for a haircut, but who's got the time!), shop and plan for dad and husbands birthdays on the 27th and the 29th, have I mentioned I'm also planning a baby shower for the new year? Ugh. I mean not ugh for the baby shower, just ugh in general. I love doing all these things, but when you work in a retail environment and have a daily blog to manage, it's just gets plain exhausting. And also on the retail note, frustrating because I keep receiving invites to holiday dinner parties and open houses that I inevitably have to respond, "sorry, we have extended our hours at the shop and I'm working until 8pm." I know, I know, woe is me!
Aaaaaaanyway, this is just my apology to my lovely readers for dropping the ball on my daily posts. I had to take my husbands advice on this one, he's always telling me "it's your blog, you make the rules." So, my posts might be a little irregular and maybe a tad off topic until the holidays have wrapped. Please feel free to continue sending me your fashion dilemmas, I'm happy to help. Busy, yes for sure, but never too busy to help someone in a styling crisis!!!

Black Friday
I'll do anything to avoid waking up early and being stuck in hoards of people clamoring for the deal of the season. I vote instead of the day after Thanksgiving being "Black Friday" it officially be changed to "LBD Friday". Here are some little (and one long) lovelies from one of my favorite-est of online shops, ASOS.

it's back!
It's back! I ordered this necklace in September and had to wait wait wait for it to arrive because it was on backorder. I was so excited the day I received it I had to blog about it immediately (here!). Sadly for all though, this fab necklace had vanished from Piperlime's website.
Well, It's Back! It's Back! Snatch one up quickly and you should receive it just in time for the new year.

As You Wish
Today's 'As You Wish' post was a request from a highschool friend / facebook friend who wanted to see some of my picks for leather goodies. Honestly, I could do an entire week of leather, it's one of my favorite textiles for shoes and bags. Instead, I've just cherry picked a few items, all from ASOS. I love how it runs the gamut from super tough chick to lovely vintage lady.

today i want to be natalie portman
Call it a case of wanting to be everything you are not, I have always had major envy and major love for Natalie Portman.
She's a super famous actress,
I've been in a couple of low budget horror flicks (didn't you know? see me in this, this, this and this)
She's been a dancer since the age of four,
I was born pigeon toed and struggled through years of training only to achieve getting my feet straight.
She's a style icon and lovely 5'3 muse of Zac Posen,
I'm a style blogger and 6'0 muse of my husband (not so shabby on that note!)
Anyway, last week on TopShop's blog they featured an upcoming thriller she is staring in called Black Swan. It caught my attention for so many reasons. A) It stars Natalie Portman (duh!) B) the movie posters are to die for art deco style C) I super duper looooove thrillers D) rumors abound of lots of sexual tension and action not only between guys and gals but also gals and gals (how risqué!) E) It's directed by Darren Aronofsky of Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler fame and F) Did I mention Winona Ryder? just to name a few. Here's hoping the movie is as good as I've hyped it up to be!

can't we do it again?
Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary! I am just as happy with my husband now as I was the day we were wed, but I feel a little bit sad because I wish I could have a lovely wedding party every year! Treating guests to good food, good booze and good company was such a special experience for me. And of course, wearing a fantastical wedding gown! There were more woes than I care to remember revolving around "the dresses" and I am definitely not going to relive them here on my fun blog. What I will say is that after being coerced into trying on a Jenny Packham gown, I am a die hard fan. My husband and I made a pact not to go into debt over our wedding and we did our best to stick to it, so the Jenny Packham gown was completely out of my budget. Fortunately, in the end I wound up wearing a lovely vintage dress from Posh Girl Vintage, which truth be told was much more fitting for our intimate setting.
Today's post is my "if I was a rich girl" Jenny Packham Monaco dress from her Fall 2009 collection, which I could not for the life of me find a picture that does the B.E.A.uuuuuuutiful dress justice, my actual wedding dress that I purchased from Posh Girl Vintage and four dresses from Jenny Packham's most recent collection.
Three Cheers for Happily Ever After!

I'm in love with this!
I finally received this awesome necklace! I'm on my lunch break at work and just couldn't wait to share. It's been on backorder from Piperlime for over a month, I hate when things don't ship right away. But some things are worth waiting for. Sad news for all my lovely readers though, I just went to Piperlime so I could show you were to purchase this gem and it's gone!! So sad. Here is the "sister" to it, which is cool too, but definately not the same.
p.s. "boyfriend" style sweater and ruffled keyhole top from OldNavy

Spooky Lady (or in this case girl) Inspirations
I admit, I am in love with Christina Ricci. It's true. I just can't get enough of the doll faced actress. So clearly Wednesday Addams is near and dear to my heart. While she wasn't the first to play Wednesday, she's the one for me being that I was 11 when the movie came out. Here my take on a grown up fashionable Wednesday.
Sonia Black Sequin Removable Collar Shirt , Parker Pleated Skirt , Pieces Alice Stripe Tights , Unlisted by Kenneth Cole Mad Dash , Wraparound Claw Ring , White Claw Set Ring with Swarovski Elements , Faceted Stone Cocktail Ring , Oversized Metal Snake Ring

Spooky Lady Inspirations
I am a super fan of the 60's (insert sarcastic gasp of surprise here) So it's no shock that I've got mad love for the 3 lovely ladies who graced the small and big screen as Catwoman. I have to say I hold Julie Newmar in the highest regards, but each lady was dynamite in their own right. Here is an outfit that admittedly could only be worn by a lady of mucho confidence, but that is one of the best qualities of the feline super villain.
Gemma Black Silk 'Mya' Tank , Dents Long Leather Gloves , Riptide Leather Shorts , MK Gold Leather Studded Skinny Belt , Pixie Zip Wedge , Black Shimmer Tights
